School CalendarThe school calendar is modeled after the nearby public school districts with the modification to accommodate our extended school day and school year. The school year is composed of 168 student days, starting in mid-August and ending in mid-June.

Grades Enrolled; Teacher Student RatioThe school currently enrolls approximately 480 students, from Kindergarten through eighth grade. Typical classroom size is less than 20 students and the student/teacher ratio is less than 22:1. Small classes are one of the keys to EastSide’s academic success.

Facilities and School Resources
EastSide Charter School sits on 8 acres of land and includes 29 classrooms, a full service gym, an auditorium, a cafeteria, a teachers’ lounge and an office suite. The school also has 4 acres of athletic fields including soccer and football fields and a baseball/softball diamond and children’s playground areas.
EastSide possesses a new library and media center, constructed and furnished with funds given by generous donors. This facility contains a new collection of books designed to support and supplement our curriculum, as well as new computers to aid students in research projects.
The school is fully equipped with wireless internet access. All classes from grades 3 to 8 are equipped with SmartBoard Technology and laptop carts, so that each student has a laptop available to them for use in the classroom. A computer lab is open for students and teachers to enter during free periods to take advantage of web-based research tools.

The following EastSide programs were created by various members of the school community to encourage growth beyond the academic setting.

We also believe that there are certain habits, which exemplify these traits. ● Mentoring Program: EastSide’s Mentoring Program connects community volunteers with our students for one day a week, 45 minute, tutoring and mentoring sessions designed to enrich students’ academic development while giving them important time spent building valuable relationships, including at the annual holiday party and at the annual Flower Market outing.
● After School Activities: EastSide works to provide positive and enriching experiences for students both inside and outside of school. Staff members run clubs and sports after school to extend the positive, welcoming learning community beyond the school day. Some of the clubs offered are: Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Dance/Cheer, Men’s Mentoring, Sophisticated Ladies, and more.
