Curriculum
Lower School
The EastSide lower school academic program builds a strong foundation for students aligning with the Common Core Standards. Our students are exposed to various texts and pushed to have analytical conversations in reading and English literature. In order to prepare our students and encourage comprehension, children are given daily opportunities to work both on grade level texts as well as opportunities to work at their independent reading level. In math, our students work on math fluency, computations and explaining their deeper level of understanding of concepts through collaboration in small groups or as individuals. The Lower School works with every child to deliver the best quality education, an interactive classroom environment, and a culture of excellence.

Middle School
The EastSide middle school incorporates the Engage NY Curriculum into our Math and ELA classrooms. Engage NY is an Advanced Placement preparatory, Common Core Standard aligned curriculum that is taking the way we teach and assess our students to a whole new level while allowing our students to achieve at the highest level in grades 6-8. Engage NY allows our students to take key skills and concepts and expand on them to perform real-world, rigorous, and engaging tasks. In addition to grades 6-8, we also host the 5th Grade Academy, which places a special focus on the personal and academic transitions that take place in 5th grade as students prepare for middle school. Our middle school fosters the growth that students have in lower school and prepares students academically and socially for future challenges.
